A fundamental principle of Sarah Decristoforo's multi-media and text works is the exploration of films, images, texts, symbolic languages, the aesthetics of everyday culture and mass media that discuss gender roles as well as political and social practices of power, entering intimate, sometimes obscene realms. In her research-based work she analyzes cultural expressions and puts them into a new context which is as direct as grafittis or pornographic footage, but also reflected like scientific works.
